Our vision is for the Seychelles National Archives to become Seychelles prime center for historical research.

The Seychelles National Archives is to collect, preserve and make accessible archival documents of enduring value through the use of the latest technology.

The National Archives play a leading role in the management and dissemination of archival resources.

Its functions are as follows:

• Acquire records from Government Ministries and other Records Creating Agencies.
• Ensure the conservation and preservation of records through an efficient Records Management Programme.
• Provide an efficient records retrieval system to clients.
• Make available archives of enduring value to researchers in accordance with the National Archives Act and the Archives Conservation Bill.
• Encourage and foster the preservation of all other archival resources in the country by giving advice on conservation methods.
• Promote, encourage and facilitate the use of archival resources by organizing activities that reach out to the public.

• Develop and provide online facilities for research in the archives holding.
